Birthday Weekend in Vegas!

Jeff and I celebrated my 33rd Birthday in Las Vegas, Jeff booked us a suite at the Palazzo/Venetian (I found a deal for way less than what we paid here). We chose that hotel because I really love the food and shopping in that area, and we actually didn’t need our car or uber once! (which is what I love) I love to just chill with no schedule except where we are eating next, and this quick getaway was just that!

This was the view out of my room overlooking the main pool at the palazzo, it was gorgeous at night too! I didn’t know the palazzo was connected to the Venetian and you can go to all the pools when you book a room at either hotel, there are 10 pools to choose from which was nice when it was busy! Also we had resort credit which means you can eat at one of the many restaurants at the canal shoppes using that which was also great! I recommend the Gnocchi Sorrentina from Casanova

Day 1: Shopping + Pool

We checked in thurs afternoon, and I couldn’t wait to do some bday shopping at Zara… we don’t have one in UT so it is a staple when I visit LV! I got this cute watermelon tee and paired it with this skirt (its old, a favorite… and I will cry when it wears out) And of course my most favorite Nike shoe ever from Nordstrom. I used one of my little girls palm print Jujube minibe backpacks the entire trip since I wanted my DSLR camera but didn’t want it around my neck the whole day!

We ended the day at the pool on the 10th floor of the Venetian which stays open till 10. I forget that most LV resort pools close at 6-7 ish… to draw you in to gamble in the casinos. I am so glad the resort had one open. I needed a hot tub soak! And I got to wear my new seafolly one piece that I have been so excited about! (NOTE: This suit runs small, mine is a 10 when I usually wear a 4 or 6) And its great for busty peeps… a petite friend tried it on and said it didn’t work at all because she didn’t fill out the cups.

We were one of the few that were there and it was so relaxing and beautiful. Sculptures, gardens and fountains EVERYWHERE! Jeff had a lovely snooze and I read a book. Win-win.

Day 2: Breakfast+Pool+more shopping=heaven!

This is such a cool area kind of by the lobby, Jeff has stayed in this hotel twice and had no idea there’s and actual canal with singing gondoliers IN the hotel… so funny. We ate the breakfast buffet at grand luxe cafe… It was good, but I don’t feel like I ate enough to have it be worth the $20… again, we had resort credit so it was fine.

The next day we did some more shopping and swimming. I am telling you, we really took this vacation easy. My swim suit is from a new shop called Coconut Palms & Co. You can follow them on Insta here. And these are similar here and here that I mentioned in my post about my Swim 2017 Wishlist.

Here are some products I used at the pool that I love. The tinted lotion was great because I can get coverage from burns, but it also gives a little bit of color. I love Rapunzel of Sweden and I tried out their new leave-in conditioner to protect my hair from the chlorine. Loved it!

I did a little shopping spree and got two outfits I was loving. There are so many options in Vegas for shopping, it really was one of the big draws for a vacation there. So here is my second outfit from my spree.

It was such an awesome trip to have getaway for the weekend. I was still able to make it back by mother’s day and enjoy the day with my kids. I definitely had a great time at the Palazzo/Venitian and would recommend it especially if you are going to LV for some fun shopping.

Inside My Make-Up Bag

I get asked about what makeup products I use, so I thought I’d share!

Why I love it:
1 Lancome’s Teint Idole: This foundation is full coverage with a matte finish, so it looks good in photos and real life. And it lasts all day.
2 Tarte The buffer Airbrush: This brush makes your foundation look like it was applied by an airbrush machine. Trust me on this because I have an airbrush machine and I almost prefer this brush to the machine.
3 Too Face Milk Chocolate Soleil: A good bronzer for light to medium skin tones. Plus it smells delicious. Just like chocolate.
4 Tarte Shape Tape: This is a full coverage concealer. It is creamy, a tiny amount goes a long way, and it blends well. One other thing I love about it is that you can use it for highlighting and contouring if you want. And it’s an award winning product. When I picked it up at Ulta, the employees there said it was one of their top two sellers.
5 It Cosmetics Heavenly Lux Brush: If you’re looking for a concealer brush, this is the one I’d recommend. I only use it for concealer because I love my buffer brush.
6 Watts Up: This is a good highlighter if you are dry or prefer cream. It is a good fit for fair skin.
7 Becca Opal Glow:  This powder is beautiful and really does give a glow.
8 Coralista Blush: A really great natural-looking blush. It gives you a highlight as well if you don’t have time to highlight and contour.
9 Setting Spray: I’d recommend this for humid climates or if you are oily. Your makeup will last way longer. I prefer a spray to a powder setting because powder looks cake-y and gets in fine lines and wrinkles. I especially don’t like powder because my foundation is matte.
10 Anastasia Brow Definer Pencil: I love this because it has an angled tip. Genius! It goes on smooth and stays put, giving you full coverage for your brows. I use light brown because I like having warmth to cover up my gray tattoos. If I didn’t have tattoos I would use a more ashy color, like taupe.
11 Anastasia Brow Gel: My brow hair is long and so this keeps it in place. I’d also recommend this if you have unruly brows.
12 Too Faced Sweet Peach: This smells like peaches and has really smooth colors. This is latest and greatest palette from Too Faced and has great colors for spring. I also like the milk chocolate bar palette.
13 Covergirl Mascara: I’ve tried just about every expensive mascara there is, and I always come back to this one. Obviously everyone has different types of lashes, but I definitely would recommend trying this one out if you haven’t.
14 Covergirl Perfect Blend Eyeliner: I have used this eyeliner for years. I use black brown for everyday use because if I use black for everyday looks, it closes my eyes, so this is black brown is a great alternative. And I love that this product does exactly what it says.
15 Stila Liner: I use this if I want more dramatic cat-eye. It’s fabulous because it stays. Perfect for an evening, or dark bold look. I don’t use it for everyday looks.
16 Train Case in “Queen of the Nile” print: This is one of my favorite JuJuBe bags and it is perfect for holding my makeup.  It is machine washable. It fits everything you could ever want. Flexible, so easy to pack. Favorite pattern, so many other good patterns too.  Plus, it is antimicrobial which is nice to not have to worry about germs with my makeup I put on my face every day.
Hope you have a fabulous weekend!

Swim 2017 Wishlist

I wish I could buy all of these swims this year, but unfortunately I am too practical. I usually buy 1 maybe 2 quality swims a year, and then if I want others I then head to Target or Forever 21 for some less expensive options!

Stoller Essentials

I teamed up with UPPAbaby to share with you the essentials I include with my stroller.

0-11

I know it looks freezing here in Utah. It was. But my girls loved our outing.

With two toddlers, I wouldn’t get anywhere without a stroller. It becomes a mandatory part of traveling, even in the cold. So I wanted to share my survival tips.

0-21

An absolute must: these Pookie Ponchos from 7AM Enfant.

0-5

These ponchos are the perfect stroller solution on cold days. With two toddlers, there would be a lot of complaining if we didn’t have these cute ponchos to keep them warm.

0-10

One of the things I love about the ponchos is that they have a detachable top. If it was really cold, I would be able to use the ponchos to cover my girls’ heads. We weren’t too cold today, so they were fine without it.

0-25

Another must: Ju-Ju-Be bag.

If you have been following me on Instagram, you probably know how much I love Ju-Ju-Be. Isn’t this bag adorable?

0-19

It makes life so much easier that I can put the bag over two shoulders so I don’t feel off balance while pushing the stroller.

0-22

My last tip is to not let the weather keep you from being outdoors. There are some really reasonable things you can do to make your stroller experience so much better.
