Gender Reveal!

Hey guys! If you are following me over on Instagram, you probably saw that we have some exciting news! We are expecting our 5th baby in March!

I have three girls and one boy, so I reeeeaaally wanted to add another boy to the mix. Guess what we are having?

 

We are having a GIRL! I guess we are meant to be a family with LOTS of estrogen. 

We tried something new this pregnancy, I used a test called Sneak Peak Test. You guys! This is so cool! It is an at home test that you use that predicts gender. You can do it at 9 weeks, so you don’t have to wait as long as an ultrasound. It was super easy and the results came back so fast, I would totally recommend it.

You take the test and mail it back and then they email you the results. I was able to find out in 24 hours! It was really convenient and so nice to know the gender so early on in the pregnancy. 

And I am still in need of baby products that you guys recommend. Anything you can’t live without? Put it in the comments below!
 

 

Ballet Blast With Bree Johnson

This is my friend, Brianne, from Ballet Blast. If you haven’t heard about Ballet Blast, let me introduce you to your new favorite fitness program. Bree wanted to develop something that would empower woman with a community of support rather than a gym.

We have been friends forever and she was willing to give me a few lessons. She is awesome and was one of the hosts on Good Things Utah for a while. She’s incredibly talented and her Ballet Blast is just one more example of her incredible skill.

One of the most unique things about Ballet Bar is they don’t expect you to come into the studio every day. Instead, you can work out over Facebook live or on demand with the recorded videos.

One of the awesome things about the focus at Ballet Bar is they focus on long and lean rather than adding bulk. All of the program is focused on long and lean Focusing on toning your body through ballet ensures that you will not add bulk to your physique.

 

 

Okay, we had a little extra fun after we worked out.

Birthday Weekend in Vegas!

Jeff and I celebrated my 33rd Birthday in Las Vegas, Jeff booked us a suite at the Palazzo/Venetian (I found a deal for way less than what we paid here). We chose that hotel because I really love the food and shopping in that area, and we actually didn’t need our car or uber once! (which is what I love) I love to just chill with no schedule except where we are eating next, and this quick getaway was just that!

This was the view out of my room overlooking the main pool at the palazzo, it was gorgeous at night too! I didn’t know the palazzo was connected to the Venetian and you can go to all the pools when you book a room at either hotel, there are 10 pools to choose from which was nice when it was busy! Also we had resort credit which means you can eat at one of the many restaurants at the canal shoppes using that which was also great! I recommend the Gnocchi Sorrentina from Casanova

Day 1: Shopping + Pool

We checked in thurs afternoon, and I couldn’t wait to do some bday shopping at Zara… we don’t have one in UT so it is a staple when I visit LV! I got this cute watermelon tee and paired it with this skirt (its old, a favorite… and I will cry when it wears out) And of course my most favorite Nike shoe ever from Nordstrom. I used one of my little girls palm print Jujube minibe backpacks the entire trip since I wanted my DSLR camera but didn’t want it around my neck the whole day!

We ended the day at the pool on the 10th floor of the Venetian which stays open till 10. I forget that most LV resort pools close at 6-7 ish… to draw you in to gamble in the casinos. I am so glad the resort had one open. I needed a hot tub soak! And I got to wear my new seafolly one piece that I have been so excited about! (NOTE: This suit runs small, mine is a 10 when I usually wear a 4 or 6) And its great for busty peeps… a petite friend tried it on and said it didn’t work at all because she didn’t fill out the cups.

  

We were one of the few that were there and it was so relaxing and beautiful. Sculptures, gardens and fountains EVERYWHERE! Jeff had a lovely snooze and I read a book. Win-win.

Day 2: Breakfast+Pool+more shopping=heaven!

  

This is such a cool area kind of by the lobby, Jeff has stayed in this hotel twice and had no idea there’s and actual canal with singing gondoliers IN the hotel… so funny. We ate the breakfast buffet at grand luxe cafe… It was good, but I don’t feel like I ate enough to have it be worth the $20… again, we had resort credit so it was fine.

 

The next day we did some more shopping and swimming. I am telling you, we really took this vacation easy. My swim suit is from a new shop called Coconut Palms & Co. You can follow them on Insta here. And these are similar here and here that I mentioned in my post about my Swim 2017 Wishlist.

Here are some products I used at the pool that I love. The tinted lotion was great because I can get coverage from burns, but it also gives a little bit of color. I love Rapunzel of Sweden and I tried out their new leave-in conditioner to protect my hair from the chlorine. Loved it!

 

I did a little shopping spree and got two outfits I was loving. There are so many options in Vegas for shopping, it really was one of the big draws for a vacation there. So here is my second outfit from my spree.

 

It was such an awesome trip to have getaway for the weekend. I was still able to make it back by mother’s day and enjoy the day with my kids. I definitely had a great time at the Palazzo/Venitian and would recommend it especially if you are going to LV for some fun shopping.

Venus Laser Treatment with Utah Facial Plastics

If you follow me on Instagram, you probably have seen me post about Utah Facial Plastics over the last few months. I wanted to share what I had done with the Venus laser treatment (read more about it here). This is a series of three treatments spread 4 weeks apart that are supposed to minimize pores, scarring, lighten freckles and sunspots, tighten your overall skin to reduce signs of aging and give you a glow. (Basically everything…)

I’ll just tell you upfront that overall, after my skin healed, I felt like it really did make a huge difference. I wish I had a good before pic in the same lighting! My skin is much more smooth and even. Because I am really dry, I had some extreme dryness issues while my skin was still trying to heal, but I think it all just depends on how fast each individual heals and varies from person to person!

 

Treatment 1

Before I went in, I had to apply numbing cream to my face (1 hr prior). I was a little nervous, because I didn’t know how it would affect my skin, how much down time I would need and if I could go in public. But I was really surprised that it healed quickly and I was able to cover it up really easily 24 hrs later. And the numbing cream, worked great! I didn’t feel a thing.

 

 

 

By the end of three weeks I could actually see a big difference in my skin! I was really excited for that week, and then it was time for another treatment.

 

Treatment 2

As you can see in the videos at the end of this post, this treatment takes less down time than a CO2 treatment, but you do have to go in for more treatments. I liked it this way because I was able to see how my skin healed over time. With the second treatment, they knew better how my skin reacted, and so they increased the laser amount and put it closer together so I didn’t have the brick pattern. And weirdly I felt like my skin healed quicker the second time!

Also this “pinpoint bleeding” is totally normal!

24 hrs later sans makeup (above) and then after I applied makeup (below) so it is definitely something you can go out and about with… unlike the Co2 Laser resurfacing (see video with RN Alfie Symes explaining the difference)

This is totally makeup free 2 weeks post treatment! I haven’t been able to go without foundation since my early 20’s! and I still have one treatment left! I will try and update once I have the 3rd treatment, but honestly 2 treatments made a HUGE difference! Friends and neighbors keep asking what I am using on my skin bc it is so smooth.

This picture is completely healed and with light foundation, overall my skin feels more even toned, tight and supple. I LOVED this treatment and can’t wait to get the third one! CALIFORNIA 2017 TRIP HIGHLIGHTS

First Highlight of our trip: Jujube #JUJUBEACH

We just got back from jujubes 2nd annual Jujubeach party! to release their latest print and partnership with Tula (baby carriers) and it was AHH-MAZING. The latest print “rosy posy” is the prettiest floral, (more pic to come on that later) Everyone should know that you do NOT ever miss Jujube party, they do it right! From the food down to the swag bags, and custom floral crowns, they don’t miss a detail! My Bro and his wife came down to Laguna from LA to spend the weekend with my family, and we are so glad they did! I am pretty sure one of my kids would have drowned without them there to keep tabs on my daring little girls… They are a tad too brave for this mama.

First pic we took when we walked into Jujube’s party at the private beach in Laguna! my Bro and wife Witney Carson joined us, and thanks to Wit and her celeb status from “ABC’s Dancing with the stars” this was featured in a few tabloids… LOL thanks Wit;) When we walked in we were greeted with food and handmade floral crowns from The Crown Collective and My girls were in heaven. Floral crowns are just an obsession of every girl I think.

Loving my girls new swim from rad swim! I got a matching one, but Its white and I didn’t want sand in mine. Now I wish I would have just worn it!

These were taken as she was seeing her floral crow in the mirror for the first time! Her dimples kill me. Only kid or grandkid yet that got my daddy’s dimples!

And Hal my ginger beauty! I am obsessed with her hair color!

My swim is from Kingdom and State, and its quickly become a favorite this year! so comfy and flattering on every figure!

Yes Ty was with us, but I couldn’t get him outta the ocean for long enough for a pic so this is what we got from him. Men/boys +photos=nonexistent….

these two divas… actually make that 3 divas.

These little surfboards are so fun! you throw them out into the waves and they “surf” back to you! so fun and came in our jujube swag bag!

2. Disneyland

First and foremost, we were so excited to make our own custom Disney shirts with my Cricut explore air 2! I have another post about my Cricut here. I used their Iron on transfer paper and man was it a fun and easy project! I was able to finish all 6 shirts from design to finish in one night! and how cute is the glitter iron on! quit tip: make sure and pre-wash your shirt without fabric softener, I didn’t wash 2 of them and the letters started peeling up a bit, but the other 4 I washed first have been great, rewashed and still look good! Lesson learned to follow the instructions on the package;)

When you have a cricut you are able to use the software to customize the designs you want. This made our shirts super easy to do. Like I mentioned before, I was able to do all the shirts in one night.

 

And we made it!  We had a great time at Disney with the kids and our cute shirts. (Note Landree and Brighty have writing on their arms with my phone number in case they got lost. Luckily they never got lost.)

 

3. Huntington Beach

We also had a fabulous bike ride around Huntington Beach. I have a friend there who let us take her bikes around. The weather was gorgeous!

Inside My Make-Up Bag

I get asked about what makeup products I use, so I thought I’d share!

Why I love it:
1 Lancome’s Teint Idole: This foundation is full coverage with a matte finish, so it looks good in photos and real life. And it lasts all day.
2 Tarte The buffer Airbrush: This brush makes your foundation look like it was applied by an airbrush machine. Trust me on this because I have an airbrush machine and I almost prefer this brush to the machine.
3 Too Face Milk Chocolate Soleil: A good bronzer for light to medium skin tones. Plus it smells delicious. Just like chocolate.
4 Tarte Shape Tape: This is a full coverage concealer. It is creamy, a tiny amount goes a long way, and it blends well. One other thing I love about it is that you can use it for highlighting and contouring if you want. And it’s an award winning product. When I picked it up at Ulta, the employees there said it was one of their top two sellers.
5 It Cosmetics Heavenly Lux Brush: If you’re looking for a concealer brush, this is the one I’d recommend. I only use it for concealer because I love my buffer brush.
6 Watts Up: This is a good highlighter if you are dry or prefer cream. It is a good fit for fair skin.
7 Becca Opal Glow:  This powder is beautiful and really does give a glow.
8 Coralista Blush: A really great natural-looking blush. It gives you a highlight as well if you don’t have time to highlight and contour.
9 Setting Spray: I’d recommend this for humid climates or if you are oily. Your makeup will last way longer. I prefer a spray to a powder setting because powder looks cake-y and gets in fine lines and wrinkles. I especially don’t like powder because my foundation is matte.
10 Anastasia Brow Definer Pencil: I love this because it has an angled tip. Genius! It goes on smooth and stays put, giving you full coverage for your brows. I use light brown because I like having warmth to cover up my gray tattoos. If I didn’t have tattoos I would use a more ashy color, like taupe.
11 Anastasia Brow Gel: My brow hair is long and so this keeps it in place. I’d also recommend this if you have unruly brows.
12 Too Faced Sweet Peach: This smells like peaches and has really smooth colors. This is latest and greatest palette from Too Faced and has great colors for spring. I also like the milk chocolate bar palette.
13 Covergirl Mascara: I’ve tried just about every expensive mascara there is, and I always come back to this one. Obviously everyone has different types of lashes, but I definitely would recommend trying this one out if you haven’t.
14 Covergirl Perfect Blend Eyeliner: I have used this eyeliner for years. I use black brown for everyday use because if I use black for everyday looks, it closes my eyes, so this is black brown is a great alternative. And I love that this product does exactly what it says.
15 Stila Liner: I use this if I want more dramatic cat-eye. It’s fabulous because it stays. Perfect for an evening, or dark bold look. I don’t use it for everyday looks.
16 Train Case in “Queen of the Nile” print: This is one of my favorite JuJuBe bags and it is perfect for holding my makeup.  It is machine washable. It fits everything you could ever want. Flexible, so easy to pack. Favorite pattern, so many other good patterns too.  Plus, it is antimicrobial which is nice to not have to worry about germs with my makeup I put on my face every day.

Utah Indian Costume

Hallie told me last week she wanted to go to school dressed up as an American Indian for her “UTAH” day at school. She really wanted to because her friends were dressing up too.

I told her I didn’t want to spend anything for her outfit, since it was optional. We pulled together some things around the house and we were able to put together a good outfit!

I used Snazaroo face pain for Hallie’s eye makeup. The leather in Hallie’s hair and for her skirt is from the craft store, I happened to have it around the house.

I think they made a cute group American Indians! I’m glad we were able to pull off her outfit so quickly. Have you ever had last minute costume emergencies? What did you end up doing?

 

Swim 2017 Wishlist

I wish I could buy all of these swims this year, but unfortunately I am too practical. I usually buy 1 maybe 2 quality swims a year, and then if I want others I then head to Target or Forever 21 for some less expensive options!

Hot Tots Hair Care for Toddlers

A few weeks ago I posted on my Instagram about a product I love for my girls: Hot Tot. Here are some more photos of my toddlers with their Hot Tot’s products.  One of the things I love about the Hot Tot’s products is how good they smell (think cabbage patch doll…yum), plus they are fun and safe for kids. I only condition their hair once a week as I find too much conditioning  pulls some of their cute curl out, but the shampoo we use daily!

 



I use the gel daily on wet hair in prep for any style, then always finish with the hairspray. The structure whip is really nice to get some extra grip on tiny braids!
